The creator

Built by an attorney who
actually practices law.

CaseDesk™ isn't a startup's guess at what a law practice needs. It's one lawyer's own case manager — the fields, the deadlines, the workflows he wanted on his own matters — turned into software, and kept honest by someone professionally obligated to mean what it claims.

Asaf David Fulks

Founder · CaseDesk · Fulks, Inc.

Licensed California attorney — State Bar #343622, admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and pro hac vice in the Circuit Court of the First Circuit, State of Hawaiʻi (2026), with a practice in insurance defense, construction defect, civil litigation, and intellectual property. J.D. magna cum laude; B.A. in Computer Science. U.S. patent holder and published author. Founder of his own practice, and the builder of the tools he uses to run it. CaseDesk is what happens when the person writing the code is also the person filing the motion.

Asaf Fulks — attorney, computer scientist, and creator of CaseDesk
The attorney

J.D. magna cum laude, Taft Law School — passed the California Bar, the Baby Bar, and the MPRE on the first attempt, spoke at his own commencement, and now serves on the school’s advisory board. Licensed in California (State Bar #343622), admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, and admitted pro hac vice in the Circuit Court of the First Circuit, State of Hawaiʻi (2026). The licensing model is honest, the privacy policy is real, and the deadline math is labeled — written by someone with a bar card on the line.

The computer scientist

B.A. in Computer Science, minor in Economics, from Denison University — and named inventor on U.S. Patent 8,345,911. Every line of CaseDesk — the practice-area data models, the citing deadline engine, the local AI pipeline — was built in-house, not outsourced.

The builder

Founded The OC Recording Company in 2005 — still operating two decades later, with work for Disney, Universal, Netflix and ESPN. Also the creator of StemDesk, a shipped, code-signed desktop application in an entirely different field. This is a product from someone with a long record of finishing things.

The author

Two published books — including an 858-page technical manual and Consensus Change Standards: A Framework for Bitcoin Protocol Governance (2026). The same appetite for sustained, sourced, documentation-grade work that a 13,400-entry legal library takes.

Why the evidence feature is Bitcoin

Not a gimmick pulled off a trend list. CaseDesk anchors document hashes to Bitcoin because its author wrote a book on Bitcoin protocol governance — the timestamping was designed by someone who understands what the chain does and does not prove.

Why CaseDesk exists

No case manager had the depth a real practice needs or kept privileged files off a vendor's servers. So he built one that runs entirely on your own machine — and used it on his own cases first.

Everything else he's built

Two decades of shipped work across law, software, music and publishing — all of it still running, all of it his own.

The same discipline, in the software

A practice lives or dies on details: the deadline that's actually a court day, the conflict you didn't catch, the file you can't afford to hand to a third party. CaseDesk encodes that discipline instead of leaving it to a generic template — 106 practice areas that know their own doctrine, a deadline engine that cites its authority, and an architecture where your client data stays on your machine by default — and where the optional sync layer is zero-knowledge, so even our own server holds only ciphertext it cannot read.

Honest by design. CaseDesk is a professional tool, not legal advice. Deadline calculations, references, and exposure estimates are aids to a licensed attorney's judgment — verify against official sources before relying on any date or figure. Where a rule reflects best practice rather than pinned law, CaseDesk says so.
